MEET THE OREGON ON STAFF
Jerome Brooks, Executive Director.
Jerome joined Oregon ON in June 2016. He brings a wealth of experience in community development and affordable housing policy, advocacy and community relations, equity, and management. Jerome's work has ranged from grassroots organizing to city, state, and national roles in areas of government affairs. Most recently, Jerome focused on program development, community outreach, and contract management for the Portland Housing Bureau.

Tanya Wolfersperger, Industry Support Director.Tanya joined Oregon ON in June 2012. Previously Tanya served as Hacienda CDC's Youth and Family Services Director, where she oversaw afterschool programming, early childhood education and the Social & Support Services for Education Success (SSSES) academic support program. Tanya had been with Hacienda since 2001 and served as Hacienda's Deputy Director and Asset Manager prior to taking on youth development in 2008. Tanya began her non-profit career in 1995 in New York City working to support an inner-city elementary school. After living in Guatemala, she returned to Portland and began working at the NOAH (Network for Oregon Affordable Housing). Tanya received her B.A. degree in rhetoric and communication from University of Oregon.

Ruth Adkins, Policy Director.
Ruth joined Oregon ON in January 2010 as our Program Assistant, and quickly became indispensable. She was hired as our Policy Director in 2012. She served for eight years as an elected Portland Public Schools board member. Ruth has worked as Administrative Director at Neighborhood Partnerships; Development Assistant at the National Alliance on Mental Illness; and Senior Research Analyst at Campbell DeLong Resources. Ruth holds a master's and a bachelor's degree from Yale University.

Maria Washington, Executive Assistant & Operations Manager.
Maria joined OregonON in August 2016. She has several years of experience in Administration, Public Relations, Client Services and Advocacy. She has worked with and around a diverse group of individuals, serving four years as a State Delegate for the Washington State Association for Early Childhood Education. She has traveled and lived abroad, and has a deep appreciation for all cultures. She is known for her participation and volunteer efforts, such as Environmental Restoration, in some of our local parks here in Oregon, as well as volunteering her administrative skills at local organizations and businesses and organizing and facilitating events throughout Oregon.Email Maria (503) 223-4041
Maria has several years of experience in office administration, public relations, customer service and advocacy. She has worked with and around a diverse group of individuals, serving four years as a member and State Delegate for the Washington State Association for Early Childhood Education. She is known for her participation and volunteer efforts, such as environmental restoration, working in some of our local parks here in Oregon. Maria loves volunteering her administrative skills at local organizations and businesses, as well as organizing and facilitating events. She has lead several women’s and single's groups, and continues to take every opportunity to positively impact her community and the lives of others. She has traveled and lived abroad, and has a deep appreciation for all cultures. Working in a progressive environment that allows her to do what she does best, helping others, is most important to her.
