John Miller, Executive Director. John joined Oregon ON in May 2011. Previously, for eight years John was the Executive Director of HOST Development, a non-profit community development organization dedicated to building and selling homes to low and moderate income buyers in Portland. During his tenure, HOST built and sold nearly 300 affordable homes to first time buyers. Prior to that, John was a Program Manager for dePaul Industries, helping people with disabilities acquire the skills necessary for meaningful, productive employment. Email John.
Terrie Hendrickson, Industry Support Director. Terrie started with the AOCDO in 2007 as a Program Manager and became Oregon ON’s Industry Support Director in 2009. Terrie coordinates our seven Industry Support Working Groups, which allow community development practitioners to interact with their peers and build professional relationships; receive training and technical assistance; and develop and promote best practices. She has a Masters of Public Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has worked in nonprofit and social justice sectors for 20 years, both in Canada and in Portland. Ruth Adkins, Program Assistant. Ruth joined Oregon ON in January 2010. Ruth brings with her three years of administrative support, three years of service as a Portland Public Schools board member, and over five years of experience as a market research data analyst and report writer. Ruth has worked as Administrative Director at Neighborhood Partnerships; Development Assistant at the National Alliance on Mental Illness; and Senior Research Analyst at Campbell DeLong Resources. Her political work on her own School Board campaign and volunteer work on other campaigns has given her background on grassroots organizing and education advocacy. Email Ruth.
Orion Lumiere, Development and Communications Manager. Orion joined Oregon ON in April 2009. She has a Masters in Urban Studies and a BA in Psychology from Portland State University. She previously worked four years as a Development Associate at Sisters Of The Road. She has been involved in homelessness issues and organizations for almost 20 years. Email Orion.
Renae Blake, VISTA Volunteer. Renae completed her coursework at Portland State University this spring with a BA in Sociology, summa cum laude (with highest honor). She has volunteered at JOIN, Raphael House, L’Arche Nehalem, ARC of Multnomah, SOLV, and the Girl Scouts of the Columbia River, where she achieved her Gold Award through completion of a long-term service project. She most recently worked at Northwest Evaluation Association in Portland. Email Renae.
