MISSION:
To develop housing, programs, and facilities that promote the quality of life and self-sufficiency of farmworkers and other low income populations.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS (Projects developed by CASA for local housing sponsors):

  • New construction of 893 rental units in 28 projects for seasonal & year-round occupancy by farmworkers
  • New construction of 13 single-family homes for Lease-Option Homeownership Program
  • Preservation of 184 rental units
  • Rehabilitation of 22 on-farm labor camps for more than 1,300 farmworkers
  • Construction management of multifamily housing, dental and health clinic, community center and Head Start facilities
  • Publications related to farmworker housing management, finance and services
  • Preservation and renovation of one cooperatively owned Mobile Home Park with 30 spaces

CURRENT PROJECTS:

  • Four new construction housing projects under construction or in predevelopment totaling 128 units
  • Three preservation projects under development totaling 79 units
  • Two community facilities under development
  • Certified as a Community Development Finance Institution with >$2M loan fund
  • Administer two IDA networks: Valley Individual Development Account (VIDA) Program and Matched Education Savings Account (MESA) programs
  • Administer Manufactured Housing Park Preservation Program
  • One 51-space mobile home park undergoing conversion to resident ownership
