MISSION
A healthy community begins at home. REACH provides quality affordable housing and opportunities for individuals, families, and communities to thrive.

WHO WE SERVE
REACH serves families and individuals, the majority of whom earn less than 30% of the area median income. REACH residents include the working poor, people living with disabilities, families and seniors.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Development of 1,426 units of affordable housing, including 9 buildings for people with special needs: the elderly, formerly homeless, and adults with developmental disabilities; and 28 units for first-time homebuyers.
  • Preservation of 375 units of existing rental housing in jeopardy of losing its affordability.
  • In-house management of property management and maintenance.
  • Incorporation of green building practices.
  • Creation of Financial Education Trio for adults, and Youth$ave, a financial literacy and matched-savings program.
  • Creation of Community Builders Program, which provides free home repairs for senior and disabled homeowners, in Portland.
  • Completion of three “Target Area Improvement Plans” for housing, business district and community development improvements, in neighborhoods over a multi-year period.

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • 1 mixed-income condominium property.
  • 1 mixed-income, mixed-use rental property.
  • Renovation of two Section 202 properties.
  • Upgrading of entire portfolio with energy-saving retrofits.
  • Community Builders program, providing home repairs for about 200 senior and disabled homeowners each year.
  • An array of resident services programs, including Youth$ave, Budget, Buy and Save, and an IDA program.
