MISSION
Willamette Neighborhood Housing Services improves lives and strengthens communities through quality affordable housing, homeownership, economic opportunity, and community partnerships.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- A merger with Linn County Affordable Housing, the geographic expansion of WNHS, and the addition of a Linn County Housing Rehabilitation program.
- Over 600 families have been assisted with the purchase of their first home.
- A comprehensive approach to helping low-income families build assets through home ownership, financial literacy education, Individual Development Accounts, and Microenterprise development assistance.
- Forty percent of Linn-Benton MicroBusiness Program graduates have started or maintained a business and 25% have hired an employee.
CURRENT PROJECTS
- The preservation and acquisition of 126 units of affordable housing at 6 properties in 3 communities.
- 10 units of Permanent Supportive Housing in partnership with the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence.
- 58 units of workforce rental housing at two locations in Corvallis.
- 9 single family homes under a new Community Land Trust program.
- 51 unit Rural Development Preservation project in Sweet Home.
- The Linn-Benton MicroBusiness Program is establishing a business mentoring program in collaboration with the Corvallis Benton Chamber Coalition, Downtown Corvallis Association, Corvallis Independent Business Alliance, and the Small Business Development Center at Linn Benton Community College.
