Legislative Correspondent (Washington, DC):  Senator Merkley’s office seeks a Legislative Correspondent to draft quality constituent-response letters within a deadline-driven system. Other responsibilities include policy research, legislative work, and scheduling support for the Legislative Assistant. This position requires excellent communications and analytical skills. Portfolio includes housing and homeownership, foreign affairs, veterans and defense policy issues . Qualified candidates should be motivated self-starters, well organized, able to multitask, and eager to join a mission-oriented team that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Relevant experience and Oregon connections preferred but not required.
