SERVICES OFFERED

1.  Service Coordination: Staff work with tenants on providing information and referral for access to health and behavioral health services, employment, education and food programs, benefits and entitlement, legal, domestic violence and transportation services.  Staff often advocate on behalf of tenants to prospective new landlords and assist individuals on their exits to alternate permanent housing when they have achieved a degree of financial security and independence. Staff is available for securing support to individuals needing assistance with their house keeping and ADL skills by making appropriate referrals to Aging and Disability Services.  Staff assists with inspection preparation for both those requesting it and those who may come to the attention of their neighbors, the property manager or to the RSC.

2.  Conflict Resolution and Eviction Prevention: Staff works closely with tenants on trying to remedy behaviors that may lead to eviction including lease violations. Staff assesses if the behaviors are related to active addictions or other behavioral health issues and try to access the appropriate services needed to address the issue prior to behavior leading to an eviction.  Staff will link individuals to agencies that provide utility bill and emergency rental assistance.  Staff documents all incident reports with their manager and notify property management as necessary.  Conflict mediation between neighbors is also provided.

3.  Community Building: Community meetings are held each quarter in each of the buildings to inform tenants of community-wide resources and to address the needs of the community in the building.  A Tenant Advisory Council is currently being developed so that representatives of each building are involved in providing feedback to both Resident Services and Property Management.  RSC Rachel Livernois sits on the Old Town Safety Committee and represents the challenges both the neighborhood encounters with our tenants as well as the employment and support needs that would promote the well-being of our tenants.  Twelve-Step Meetings are offered in the Alcohol and Drug Free Community Buildings.
