Portland Policy Council

The primary purpose of the Portland Policy Council is to deliberate and decide about policies that impact the membership in the Portland area, as well as the broader membership. The Council will guide Oregon ON advocacy and educational activities and foster productive relationships among our industry partners.

Guidelines, principles and structure:

  • The Council is comprised of representatives from Voting Member Organizations.  Positions who are elected for two-year terms with no term limits. Voting Member Organizations may assign any member of their staff or board as an authorized representative. While all Voting Members’ staff and board members are welcome to attend and participate in discussion, only authorized representatives may vote in decision making.
  • The Council elects a Chair that serves both as the Council’s Chair and represents the council as an appointed Board Director. The Chair’s term is one year but has no term limit.  The Oregon ON Board also assigns an additional board member to sit on the council.
  • The Council develops annual policy agendas which prioritize issues and guide the  work of the Council.
